It may be that you need to change your home Wi-Fi's name or password while your Circle device is paired. If your Circle is only connected to your home network via Wi-Fi, your Circle's connection will break when you make the change, and it will no longer manage your network. Follow the instructions below to get Circle back up and running.
If you don't care about connecting over Wi-Fi you can always plug in Circle via Ethernet, and then change your Wi-Fi password. The unit will remain connected as long as the Ethernet cord remains in place.
Reconnecting your Circle Home Plus device
Reset the device and set up as new
A super easy way to get Circle working again and connected to your network is to reset it and set up again. Don't worry this won't remove any of your devices, profiles, or settings.
To do so, open the Circle app >> Menu >> Settings >> and tap "Remove Circle Home Plus". As well, you will need to reset the Circle Home Plus manually by following this guide. After doing so, wait a minute and then open the menu again and tap "Set up Circle Home Plus" to proceed through pairing again.
Plug Circle in via Ethernet
If the Circle hotspot can't be connected to or you want to plug Circle in via Ethernet you can get the unit working again with the following:
- Plug Circle into your main router displaying your network at home
- Reboot Circle by holding power for 10 seconds, then powering the device back on
- Reboot your router
- Wait a couple of minutes and then reopen the Circle app and things should be back to normal
- If you are still seeing a banner saying Circle is offline try force closing the parent app (You can also uninstall and reinstall the Circle parent app for troubleshooting here, afterwards log in with your account credentials)
Change the network password (Android Only)
Please note this option is only available in the Android app currently.
If you've changed the network password on your router that Circle was paired with it will go offline, unless the Ethernet cord is plugged in. You can change the password Circle Home Plus is using to connect. To do so:
- Open your Circle parent app
- Tap on the banner indicating Circle Home Plus is offline
- Tap update Wi-Fi credentials and follow the in-app prompts
- If you're having any issues following those prompts work through one of the options below
- After getting fully set up we always recommend you reboot your router, Circle Home Plus, and any devices with connectivity issues.

Reconnecting your Circle with Disney device
⚠️Before proceeding, make sure to keep your Circle app installed. If you remove it, the hotspot password for Circle will not appear in the app.
- Close the Circle app completely on your phone or tablet.
- Make whatever changes you need to make to your home Wi-Fi's name or
password. When the change has taken effect, your Circle device will once again broadcast its special "Circle-xxxx" hotspot that you saw when you first set up the Circle device in your home. This may take about a minute. - Reconnect your device to your home Wi-Fi network using the new name and/or password, and then re-launch the Circle app.
- The app will search for your Circle device, but will not find it because it has become unpaired. When the app sends this alert, select "Pair New Circle". Note: on Android devices you may get the message that you are disconnected. Tap back several times to exit the app, and then reopen it to receive the option above to "Pair New Circle".
- Proceed through the pairing process in the Circle app and use your new Wi-Fi name and/or password to pair your Circle device back to your home Wi-Fi. We recommend temporarily disabling cellular data during this process to improve the connection between Circle and your router.
- After getting fully set up we always recommend you reboot your router, Circle, and any devices with connectivity issues.
There may come a time when you will need to pair Circle to a new home network. Whether you have purchased a new Wi-Fi router or have recently changed your network name or password, since Circle connects via Wi-Fi to your router, it will need to complete the pairing process again to continue working properly.
Here's how you can move Circle over to that new network without losing your existing Circle settings:
1. Backup your profiles!
After you've got Circle re-paired with your new router your Circle profiles should still be there, but just in case there is an issue we recommend you Backup your Circle profiles. Open the Circle app, then tap Menu >> Manage >> Backup Circle Profiles. See here for more information on that.
2. Break Circle's pairing
When Circle is paired to an existing network, the light on the back of Circle will be solid (not blinking) and the Circle hotspot will be taken down. That pairing has to be broken in order to pair Circle to a new network.
To do this, you will need to take down the network that Circle is paired with by either changing the network name/password or by turning the router off altogether. Once Circle is no longer able to see the network that it should be paired to, it will begin to broadcast the hotspot again after a few seconds and the light on the back of Circle will begin to blink slowly. At this point, loading up the Circle app will land you on this alert screen:
Note: on Android you may instead get the error message that you are not connected to Circle. Tap the back button and then exit to see the above option.
3. Setup new network
If you haven't yet set up the network that you want Circle to be paired to, do that now. Make sure that you know the new network name and password that you'll need to use. If you purchased a new router, be sure to check on your router's compatibility with Circle before proceeding.
4. Pair your Circle
At this point, launch the Circle app from your phone or tablet. If you are using a fresh install of the Circle app, proceed through the setup screen as normal. If you previously had the Circle app connected to your Circle device, tap the "Pair New Circle" button on the alert screen that displays to begin the pairing process again (see image above).
📒 NOTE: If you are using Android tap back and then exit. Afterwards reopen the app and this message will appear.
You can either pair a new Circle to your home Wi-Fi and go through the full setup process again, or you can re-pair your existing Circle to your new network by following the in-app instructions. For a bit more detail around this process, head over to Pairing Circle.
Note: After getting fully set up we always recommend you reboot your router, Circle, and any devices with connectivity issues.
5. Retain your settings
The profiles and settings that you had for your Circle will remain intact once Circle has been paired to that new network.
If you would like to clear those out and begin fresh, open the Circle Home app menu and go to Manage >> Reset Circle. This will pull Circle back to factory defaults and let you being again. Note: This will also clear out the pairing information, and you will need to pair Circle again.
