We designed Circle to be compatible with as many routers and network extenders as possible. In doing so, we specifically tested many routers and extenders on the market today, but we have not tested every one. The chart below shows our current test results. You can use the information below to see if your router is listed.
Is your router not listed below?
We believe Circle should work with the vast majority of routers and modems on the market, but do not guarantee its compatibility. If you're running into problems, check the list below for your router to see if we've noted any known issues. You can also check out our Advanced Networking Guide.
What should I do if my router is incompatible?
Is your router incompatible? You might think about exchanging it with your ISP or buying a new one! If you rent your router from an Internet Service Provider reach out to them about getting a different router. Most are happy to assist with an exchange for free. You could also purchase a new compatible router and connect Circle to that. Take a look at our guide for how Circle works when you have two routers in your home. Need a recommendation? We love NETGEAR routers!
Extenders, Mobile Hotspots, and Satellite Connections
Circle was developed for use with your typical home router using a DSL or Cable connection to the Internet. Mobile hotspots and satellite connections tend to be incompatible with Circle and we cannot guarantee that Circle will work to manage these types of networks.
In addition, Circle does not recommend pairing your Circle unit with an extender. You can use extenders with Circle, but we do not recommend setting up Circle solely on a network provided by your extender. See here for more info.

Extenders and Circle
We designed Circle to work with most extenders on the market when properly configured. Circle should be paired with your main 2.4ghz network, and not with the network your extender creates. For more info check out this article. There is a known issue with the NETGEAR N600 extender. See here for more info.
