If you're using an Android device to set up Circle you might encounter a message when you first connect to the Circle Hotspot indicating that it does not have Internet connection. That's okay!
The message that might pop up is "No internet connection found on Circle - XXXX". This message is typically found on Android devices and is a result of the Circle hotspot not being an Internet source. You won't use the Circle hotspot to reach the Internet. Instead, it's how the Circle app initially communicates with the Circle device before it has been paired with your home network.
This error message will not prevent you from completing the set up. Tap on the notification and you can tell your device to stay connected. Then continue setup.
My network keeps switching!
If your Android device switches you to another network automatically, after finding no Internet connection on the Circle hotspot you can work around that:
- Choose to "forget" your main home network (this prevents the device from automatically switching to that connection). You can do so within the Settings > WiFi section of your phone.
- Disable Data connection on the phone. This will encourage the device to remain connected to the Circle Hotspot for the duration of the setup process.
