Wondering whether the Circle device will manage your device? If it's on your network at home, Circle can manage its outbound Internet traffic!
The Circle device manages your home network's outbound traffic. It can manage any traffic to the Internet, from any device that is connected to your home network. If a device is accessing a different wireless network, data network, or not using wireless activity then Circle will not be able to manage or monitor that activity. If the device is using offline content, Circle won't be able to manage that content and offline activity.
While Circle is able to manage and monitor all devices connected to a home wi-fi network, that does not mean that a Guest has to manage those devices. You can assign any device you want to be "Unmanaged". This ensures they are able to perform their duties normally. Some examples of devices that should be set to "Unmanaged" include:
- Wireless Extenders
- Wireless Stereo Systems
- Wireless Light Systems
- Security Devices
If you're looking to manage iOS or Android mobile devices outside your network, on any Internet connection, you might be interested in getting Circle Go!
