Background:
Circle Parental Controls can be set up to manage devices in two ways.
- App only: Using only the Circle application, the Parent version of the app is set up on the parent device to manage the account and settings while the child version of the app (the same Circle app) is set up on the child device to apply the parental control settings to their mobile device. You can find a list of supported devices here.
- Circle device on home network: This setup is essentially the same as the app only, except it will also allow your account to manage most other devices that are connected to your home network. When the Circle device is connected and set up on your home network, no app is needed on your child’s mobile device to manage it. However, if their mobile device connects to the internet via any other network (cellular, school network, work network, etc), it will not be managed via Circle without the app. For mobile devices, you can have the app installed and use the Circle device at the same time.
Purchasing a Circle device:
Sales of Circle devices ended in April 2023.
For new accounts, using the Circle App alone to manage mobile devices is currently the only option available.
If you own a Circle device, we still have you covered. The Circle app is set up to manage the device. There are no current plans that would impact support options. Support remains available for customers with existing Circle devices and / or the Circle app. Visit support.meetcircle.com or email help@meetcircle.com
