FamilyMode and Circle
Circle has been helping families manage their online time across all devices for years, and now T-Mobile customers can now have access to a suite of powerful family management tools, as well. For questions related to FamilyMode, visit the T-Mobile support site.
Are FamilyMode and Circle both the same product?
FamilyMode is primarily an app for a family’s mobile devices, unlike Circle with Disney, which is first an in-home solution. With a Home Base, FamilyMode subscribers can add Wi-Fi device management to their mobile experience.

T-Mobile FamilyMode is a mobile app that helps parents manage their children’s digital lives with a multitude of features.
Location: Use FamilyMode to keep track of your family’s Location.
Usage: Compare time online today, last week, or months past.
Filter: Match each family member’s age and interests with online content that’s right for them.
BedTime: Make late-night surfing a thing of the past. FamilyMode will Pause each family member’s devices based on sleep and wake times that you set.
Time Limits: Limit online time for individual apps, sites, categories, and even total time.
OffTime: Weekly offline times that Pause a Profile on a schedule, so you can enjoy family time.
History: A detailed breakdown of what sites were visited throughout the day.
Rewards: Extra online time that’s applied to the current day (and expire on the next day), so you can send a Reward right when your family member deserves one.
Can I get FamilyMode with my non-T-Mobile carrier (i.e., AT&T, Verizon, etc.)?
No, FamilyMode is only available for T-mobile account holders. Please inquire with a T-Mobile Care representative to understand your eligibility.
How much does FamilyMode cost?
For T-Mobile customers, a subscription to FamilyMode costs $10 per month and covers every iOS and Android device in the family. Add a Home Base to manage Wi-Fi devices at home for a one-time fee of $20 (limited time offer).
For current Circle owners
As always, Circle will continue to serve families all around the world! Your Circle Home device and Circle Go subscription will keep doing what you bought them for.
Plus, now you have more options!
- If you're a Circle Go customer, your current experience is nearly the same as if you subscribed to FamilyMode and added Home Base.
- You can continue to use Circle Home on your home Wi-Fi and then subscribe to T-Mobile FamilyMode for mobile, but you will need to manage everything through two different apps.
- You can use FamilyMode at a cost of $10 per month (plus a charge for the Home Base) if you would like to switch. Your Circle Home will be subject to the return policies of the retailer you purchased from.
Can I use my Circle device with FamilyMode?
While Circle helped to develop the FamilyMode app and Home Base, they are separate products from Circle. You won't be able to use your Circle Home device with the FamilyMode app or as a replacement for the Home Base.
As a current Circle owner, can I get a discount for FamilyMode?
Since the Circle Home device and Circle app are separate products from T-Mobile's FamilyMode, we are unable to offer a discount for current Circle users wanting to move over to FamilyMode. Keep in mind that many of FamilyMode's features are already included in your purchase of a Circle Home device.

How do I move over from using Circle to FamilyMode?
For more information on FamilyMode please check out T-Mobile's website. There you will learn about what you need to get started with FamilyMode. Keep in mind that you will need to be a T-Mobile customer in order to subscribe to FamilyMode.
Since Circle Home and FamilyMode are two separate products you will not be able to move your settings from one to another. In addition, Circle Go will need to be removed from any devices you want to use with FamilyMode.
Will some of the features from FamilyMode make it into Circle?
While the Circle team worked very closely with T-Mobile to make the FamilyMode product and its features, it is an entirely different product than the Circle app and Circle Home device. Because of this development the feature-set will remain separate.
