Setup instructions for Circle Home Plus devices
To address this compatibility issue with your Circle Home Plus, we recommend enabling Compatibility Mode. Read more about enabling Compatibility Mode on your Circle Home Plus.
You may also use the method described below for the Circle Home (1st generation) device devices if using Compatibility Mode will not work for you.
Setup instructions for Circle Home (1st generation) device devices
On these types of routers, the Circle Home (1st generation) device will not properly function unless the 5ghz radio is disabled. In addition, Circle can only manage wireless devices that are connected on the 2.4ghz band, and all devices connected over Ethernet must be assigned as "Unmanaged Devices" in Circle.
We recommend the following configuration:
- Disable the 5ghz band on your router. For assistance disabling the 5GHz radio on your router please refer to the device manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider.
- Set all Ethernet-connected devices to be "Unmanaged"
📒Note: For these routers if Circle is connected to the router via Ethernet cable, Circle can only manage devices wired directly to the router, and all devices connecting wirelessly will encounter problems unless they are "Unmanaged".
Compatibility Mode is NOT available for the Circle 1st generation app and Circle Home device.
