You may choose to reset your Circle Home Plus to factory defaults as a troubleshooting step to address an issue you see while managing devices on your home Wi-Fi.
Performing a factory reset on Circle Home Plus will limit the view of your device list to devices with the Circle app installed. Since everything is stored in the cloud, your Profile configurations, mobile devices, and Circle account information will be unaffected by a factory reset of Circle Home Plus.
There are two ways to Factory Reset Circle Home Plus.
Factory Reset via the App
- Open the Circle App.
- Open the sidebar menu, either by swiping in from the left side of the screen or tapping the 'hamburger' (three lines) icon.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of this screen and tap Remove Circle Home Plus.
This will remove Circle Home Plus from your account and will reset Circle Home Plus to factory defaults.
Manual Factory Reset
If Circle Home Plus requires a factory reset but it is not currently paired to a network or it is not recognized in the Circle App, it will need to be reset manually.
To factory reset manually:
- Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
- After you have held the button for 5 seconds, release and immediately press the button for another 5 seconds.
- Then, press the button once (just a quick "click").
Circle Home Plus should begin resetting, indicated by a fast-blinking light. Once the reset process is complete, Circle Home Plus will reboot. When the light starts consistently blinking slowly, Circle Home Plus is ready to be paired to a Wi-Fi network.
In summary, the process should look something like this: Press & Hold 5 seconds > Press & Hold 5 seconds > Tap Once. If you find that Circle Home Plus has not reset, this usually indicates a timing issue. Please try the steps again but hold the button in step 2 for an additional second or two. You may also want to ensure that you are quickly letting go of the power button and holding it down again.

In either case, if Circle Home Plus is reset, either via the app or manually, you'll receive a push notification from the Circle App on your phone.
Having issues setting up Circle, or at your wit's end with a Circle issue? Sometimes factory resetting your Circle 1st generation account and Circle with Disney device can help. Before doing so we'd recommend searching this support website for your issue and walking through any troubleshooting issues there. If you'd still like to factory reset, take a look below for instructions on how to do so, and what a factory reset does.
What does a factory reset do?
Factory resetting Circle will erase the current configuration and restore your Circle back to its original settings as if it just came from the factory. Anything you set up for the device, like your Wi-Fi connection, profiles, History, etc. will be erased from the device, so keep in mind that this should be used as a last resort.
Note: When you factory reset, either via the Circle app menu or via the button presses below, the device with your Circle app will get a notification if you've done so successfully.
How do I reset my Circle device?
If you have access to the Circle device via your Circle app, you can open the Menu and then Manage to reset your Circle device by tapping "Reset Circle." If you're not connected or don't have the Circle app handy, you can reset Circle via series of button presses.
Performing a factory reset via the power button
Make sure that Circle is powered on, and then locate the power button. To perform a factory reset do the following:
- Hold power button down for 5 seconds
- Release power button
- Hold power button down for 5 seconds
- Release power button
- Press the power button once and then release
Make sure you hear the power button click and then start your count. Also make sure you are counting a full five seconds.
If the reset worked, you will see the LED power light blink rapidly, followed by a slower, steady blinking. You will also receive a notification if you have the Circle app installed on your set up device and have previously set up Circle using it.
If you've got an Android device and previously set up Circle with it, we'd recommend clearing the app data for the Circle app before proceeding.
Here's a video to walk you through the process if you're having trouble:
