How to understand Circle Filter Levels
Circle lets you assign different filter levels defaults to each family member profile. You can assign a profile to the None, Adult, Teen, or Kid levels (or Pre-K, but only on Circle 1st generation).
Each of these filter levels has a default set of popular apps, websites, and categories settings as described below. The more restrictive a Filter Level, the more categories, popular apps and websites will be missing from the lists. This means those are going to be blocked by default.
- Categories: If you are unable to see a category listed for a profile on a particular filter level, that means it is always filtered for that level.
- "Kid" Apps and Websites: There is a small collection of apps and websites that are visible at more restrictive filter levels but aren't at less restrictive levels. When this happens, it will always be allowed for the less restrictive level. A good example of this is "Nickelodeon." It is visible for the Kid level but not for any other filter level, and it always works on less restrictive filter levels like Teen or Adult.
