What app do I use for setting up Circle?
To set up Circle & Circle Home Plus, you'll need the "Circle Parental Controls" app. You can get the app here. If you are setting up the Circle Home device and Circle 1st generation app, search your app store for "Circle 1st generation."
What’s the difference between the Circle 1st generation app and the Circle Parental Controls app?
The Circle Parental Controls app works with the Circle Home Plus device while the Circle 1st generation app works with the Circle Home device and NETGEAR routers.

The Circle Home Plus device offers a faster network connection thanks to a 1Gb Ethernet port. The new Circle App extends the same online screen time management functionality at home to outside data and Wi-Fi, regardless of the network. For those looking to manage only mobile devices, the Circle Parental Controls app is also offered as a standalone solution.
Is my router compatible with Circle Home Plus?
Circle is compatible with most routers on the market today. Here’s a list of the routers we have tested for compatibility. Keep in mind that if yours isn't on the list that just means we haven't tested it yet. That doesn't mean it is incompatible! In addition, with the release of our latest app we've enabled a new feature for resolving some issues with compatibility. Learn more here!
What types of devices does Circle manage?
Circle can manage any of your mobile devices running iOS or Android that meet the minimum requirements. In addition, when you add Circle Home Plus to your network all of your connected devices at home are covered. That includes gaming consoles, personal computers, smart TVs, streaming devices, smart assistants, etc. Circle is the most comprehensive device management solution for online screen time! What's the requirements for using the Circle App?
Installing the Circle App requires either of the following mobile operating systems:
- iOS version 11 or greater
- Android version 6.0 or greater

How much does Circle cost?
The Circle Home Plus solution is $129 and includes 12 months of premium features. A premium membership to Circle is $9.99 per month after a free 1-month trial. See below for more details about the premium membership.
What kind of content can Circle manage or detail? How about offline content?
Circle manages website content using our categorization system. Every website your device connects to gets categorized by the Circle system and then managed according to that categorization. That means your kiddos can only see the websites and online content you deem appropriate. For more information on how Circle's filters work see here.
Currently, Circle doesn't manage screentime that is offline. Apps that are available offline, or downloaded content will still be available on your devices.
How does Circle work on mobile devices? What about my devices at home?
Circle's mobile management utilizes a unique local VPN, installed by the Circle app, to track and manage online activity. Because it's local it won't interfere with sites like Netflix that don't normally like VPNs. As well, with this version of Circle you're able to stop the VPN from being removed (read more here).
When you set up Circle Home Plus at home on your network the device uses its presence on the network to manage all connected devices no matter what connection they use-- WiFi or Ethernet. If your devices connect to the network, Circle can manage them (read more here!)
What’s the difference between just using the Circle app or getting Circle Home Plus?
The Circle app lets you manage content and time online for your family’s iOS and Android devices. Circle Home Plus hardware enables you to manage all the devices on your home Wi-Fi as well.
What is the difference between the premium and basic features?
When you sign up for a Circle membership with a 1-month free trial, you get access to every Circle feature. Pause, Time Limits, Bedtime, Rewards, Location, and OffTime are Premium features only available with a Circle membership. If your membership ends without a renewal, you'll revert to a Basic membership where Filter, Usage, and History are available to use free of charge.

How can I use Circle for my family’s shared devices?
The most common solution for managing shared family devices is to create a Profile just for shared devices. If you have Circle Home Plus, the Home Profile is a great option. Read more here about shared devices.
Is Circle available in my country?

The new Circle App extends the same online screen time management functionality you get at home to mobile devices outside your home that use data and Wi-Fi.
Circle Home Plus includes a one-year subscription to the Circle App, including Basic and Premium features. It also includes coverage for mobile devices everywhere, a standard feature in the new Circle.
Current Circle 1st generation Users
Can I use my existing Circle 1st generation account?
All customers will be required to set up fresh account profiles in the new Circle App. Circle is not able to transfer history or existing profiles and settings from Circle 1st generation.
What if I currently subscribe to Circle Go?
Customers using the Circle Go app will need to install the new Circle Parental Controls App and follow the setup process. If you are currently using Circle Go, you will need to cancel that subscription in the App Store.
Can I upgrade my current Circle Home device?
Circle Home Plus is an entirely new product -- it is not possible to upgrade the Circle Home device.
