iOS and Android devices often leave the home with kids. The Circle Parental Controls system allows you to manage those devices at home or on the go.
Kinds of mobile devices can Circle manage outside the home
Circle is able to manage Android, Amazon Fire Tablets, Chromebooks, and iOS devices away from home. Circle does not support managing laptops, or gaming consoles away from home. Read more about system requirements for the Circle Parental Controls app.
How to manage mobile devices away from home
When you install the Kid version of the Circle Parental Controls app onto a mobile device, you add Circle's filtering capabilities, location tracking, and usage tracking when that device leaves the home. Our local VPN can keep you in the loop about where their mobile devices are and what they are up to online.
To set up a child's device with Circle Parental Controls management away from home:
- Install the Circle Parental Controls app onto your kids' iOS or Android devices.
- Tap Get Started.
- Select the Kid app option and work through the in-app steps. Read our kid device setup guide.
Does Circle turn off data usage?
After setup, Circle manages your mobile devices using a VPN. It can limit a device from connecting to the Internet using a Pause, Focus Time, Bedtime, etc., but Circle cannot shut off your mobile device's data completely.
Can Circle manage texts or calls?
Circle does not manage calls or texts that are sent through a mobile carrier network. If a mobile device makes calls or messages through an app, Circle may be able to stop them. Check out the article here for more info!
