As of August 15th, 2019, this issue should be resolve with the release of Circle 2.4. Make sure to update your devices to the latest version of the Circle app.
The Circle team is aware of an issue affecting Circle VPN managed mobile devices and Roblox. When using the Circle VPN these devices don't seem to load Roblox games.
Symptom: VPN managed devices cannot connect to Roblox
- Devices that are managed by the Circle VPN as mobile devices (using the kid version of the Circle Parental Controls app) cannot load Roblox games
- The app opens but games/sessions will not connect
Cause: incorrectly formed traffic from the Roblox app
We believe this issue occurs because of the Roblox app's incorrect usage of a certain network connection type. The app seems to send malformed packets that our Circle VPN cannot handle and rejects the connection for.
Troubleshooting: affects VPN managed devices only
When troubleshooting this issue, keep in mind the following:
- This issue will only occur on devices managed by the Circle VPN
- This issue shouldn't affect devices at home without the Circle VPN installed
Workaround: uninstall the VPN
The only way to work with Roblox on a VPN managed devices at this time is to uninstall the Circle Parental Controls app.
Resolution: coming soon!
Our team is deploying a hotfix for this issue as soon as possible. We believe this will be available around or before mid August, 2019. You'll want to make sure you update the Circle Parental Controls app at that time.
